The move also comes on the back of the rising popularity of investments based on stocks and ETFs in the region

XTB, a leading global fintech, announced on Monday its decision to expand its investment operations in the MENA region, offering investors the opportunity to invest in stocks from 15 largest stock exchanges in the world, including the NYSE, LSE and Deutsche Boerse.

The proprietary investment platform’s entry is expected to give investors in the region a wide range of capital allocation options.

The move also comes on the back of the rising popularity of investments based on stocks and ETFs in the region.

XTB expands MENA market offer with stocks and ETFs

Until now, XTB’s offer in the MENA market was only based on CFDs.

The company said its decision to expand the product offering followed its assessment of enormous investment potential in the region.

Starting from Monday, May 22, XTB’s offer in the MENA market will include stocks from the European and US stock markets, and ETFs from the European markets.

“Users of the XTB platform will have the opportunity to purchase stocks and ETFs from up to 15 of the largest stock exchanges in the world,” the company said.

“The development of our product offer in the MENA market is a natural step in our growth. Our goal is to provide our clients with a full investment spectrum, so we are constantly working on the development from both the perspective of products and technology,” said Omar Arnaout, CEO of XTB.

“The fact that our branch in Dubai is one of the fastest growing ones shows the enormous interest in financial markets in this region. I am pleased that local investors will now gain new investment opportunities,” he said.

The addition of stocks and ETFs to XTB’s offer will provide investors with different investment strategies.

While CFD-based instruments are characterized by high volatility and are intended for active investors, stocks, and ETFs are products for people leaning towards more passive investing.
