Dubai-based Amana Contracting and Steel Buildings has been awarded a US $8.1 million (AED30 million) contract by Al Rajhi Investments to construct a multipurpose industrial facility in Ras Al Khaimah for the manufacturing of aluminum, steel and glass.
The 50,000m2 fast-track project, which will be built on 90,000m2 of land, will require over 1,000 tonnes of steel. The construction mandate includes a factory, offices and worker accommodation for Cladtech International – part of Al Rajhi Investments. Construction of the project is scheduled to begin by the end of September and is expected to be ready by August 2008.
“Our association with Amana is not new as our PEB steel processing plant for the Mabani Steel Project was successfully completed by the contractor, proving its high level of professionalism, which invariably led to our natural choice for this facility at RAK,” said Georg Kutschus, Cladtech International.
“Amana is the regional leader in its ability to deliver turnkey solutions for extremely time-sensitive industrial and commercial projects on time, within budget and with good quality materials.”
The project requires the installation of cranes at all bay areas of the factory with provisions for additional cranes post-construction.
