The son of former US President Donald Trump has told Arabian Business that Dubai is a “developer’s paradise.” It comes following an exclusive interview in which the businessman discussed why another Donald Trump presidency would be prosperous for the region.

“If you want to push the boundaries [of development], Dubai is the place to do it,” he said. Adding, “If you want to build something incredible, if you want to build something iconic, this is the place to be.”

Donald Trump already has a prosperous portfolio of properties in the city, but his latest venture with Dar Global may be the most ambitious yet. The new Trump Tower will slot into the city’s iconic skyline, like many of his high-rises have across the globe.

The skyscraper will house a new members-only club called The Trump Private, a hotel and residences.

The deal came as Trump made a further push into the Arabian Peninsula, having announced two other projects in the region, including a $500 million golf resort in Oman and a high-rise tower planned in Dubai, UAE.

“We are probably the most famous Western brand in the world,” boasted Eric Trump, “I am in love with Oman and Dubai, they’re the true treasures of the Middle East. I think Dubai is incredible.”

“I love the mentality, I love the work ethic and I love the dreams that people have been able to bring to life unlike in so many other places in the world. If you were to bring 90 per cent of the projects that have been built in Dubai in the last 15 years to Europe or the rest of the world, they’d be laughed at. So it’s a developer’s paradise.”

Praising Dubai’s appeal to tourists and ultra-high-net-worth individuals, Eric Trump told Arabian Business, “They’ve just done a hell of a good job with infrastructure and security. Dubai is a haven of safety, cleanliness, capitalism and markets.”

“They wanted to be New York City, they also wanted to be a Las Vegas and a Monaco. They wanted to really appeal to everybody, from tourists to Fortune 500 CEOs.”

Eric Trump, who was speaking to Arabian Business from the Trump Organization offices in Florida, said he hoped to be back in Dubai soon and would like to visit with his father as the 47th President of the United States.
