Gitex visitors up five percent from 2007

Gitex Technology Week attracted 129,000 visitors from 157 countries says DWTC

Gitex Technology Week attracted 129,884 visitors from 157 countries, according to Dubai World Trade Centre.

Visitor numbers were up 5% from 2007’s total of 124, 317, although they were below the 2006 total of 133,139.

Helal Saeed Almarri, CEO, Dubai World Trade Centre commented: “We are very encouraged by the 5% increase in trade visitors to this year’s Gitex Technology Week. Contrary to worldwide trends, GITEX TECHNOLOGY WEEK delivered more targeted ICT industry specialists than ever before.

“We have received a lot of compliments from many of our exhibitors that the quality of visitors is notably enhanced this year. We have certainly maintained our stature as one of the most important industry exhibitions in the world,” he added.
