Tamdeed Projects, the company responsible for the deployment of Fibre-to-the-Home (FTTH) in the UAE, has announced plans to recruit and train sixty technicians to help with the task.
The company says it will provide part-subsidized training, in collaboration with the Etisalat Academy for the would-be technicians, with one year contracts for successful trainees.
Ahmed Darwish, general manager at Tamdeed Projects said: “The future of telecommunications is being driven by bandwidth hungry services such as video and business applications. This places increasing stress on the communications infrastructure and drives the need for fibre optic cables. The knowledge that we will impart to these fortunate 60 candidates will last them for many years to come, guaranteeing a better life for their families today and in the future.”
Applicants for the seven day training course will need good English communication skills and installation experience as technicians, installers and cable jointers. They will also need to pay of AED 3,900 towards the cost of the course, although this will be refunded after completion of the contract. The course will include all training necessary to become an FTTH installer.
