Arabic motherhood training platform Omooma, which provides expert-led video content about pregnancy, maternity, and baby care has secured a funding of $2.5 million from UAE investor E20.

Offering professionally curated motherhood videos, this funding supports Omooma’s strategic move to double the volume of its educational content by the end of 2022, the company said in a statement.

The platform aims to empower women with the knowledge they need to grow healthy families – through its portfolio of science-based Arabic medical, well-being, and financial advice.

Omooma plans to extend its educational motherhood video courses across hospitals, clinics and medical practitioners as well as other companies and organisations.

“Omooma’s educational content equips young Arab women with the knowledge and critical information they need throughout their motherhood journey, from the comfort of their home,” Romain Ollivier, chief executive officer of the startup said.

“It helps women better deal with topics that they are embarrassed to discuss with family and friends and prefer to receive from a professional. In addition, the platform also enhances the volume of professionally curated and created science-based Arabic content available online,” he added.

Omooma aims to increase their roster of Arabic medical, lifestyle, well-being and financial experts across the region to over 40 by the end of the year.

Omooma is also set to target 10,000 customers paid customers by the end of 2022 from a potential active user base of 300,000. Courses range from $28 to $165 and are priced according to the topic, length of the video.
