Quake hits Deba Al Fujairah

Emirates’ Centre for Meteorology and Seismology reports minor quake measuring 3.4 on Richter scale.

A tremor measuring 3.4 on the Richter scale struck Deba Al Fujairah on Saturday morning, the UAE’s National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology said.

The minor quake, which hit at 5.44am, was felt strongly at the epicentre at 25.58 degrees latitude and 56.21 degrees longitude, the centre told state news agency Wam.

No injuries or damage to property were reported.

Earlier, a relatively strong earthquake measuring 4.9 on the Richter scale hit the Arabian Gulf at 9.33am. The epicenter was less than two kilometres deep.
