Formula One world champion Lewis Hamilton secured pole position in qualifying for the Bahrain Grand Prix practice on Saturday.
The Mercedes driver, championship leader and winner of two of this season’s three races, lapped the Sakhir circuit on a gusty afternoon with the best time in each of the three qualifying sessions.
Ferrari’s Sebastian Vettel was second fastest, with Hamilton’s Mercedes team-mate Nico Rosberg third.
For Hamilton it was his fourth pole position in a row.
Sunday’s floodlit twilight race looks like being a battle between Mercedes and Ferrari.
