Etisalat has announced that prepaid ‘Wasel’ mobile users can now shift to the postpaid GSM system while retaining their SIM cards and their numbers. This service is being introduced for the benefit of those who wish to enter the monthly billing system. There is no charge for this conversion.
“We decided to launch this offer after market studies showed that many customers wish to upgrade to the postpaid GSM mobile services, which enables them to receive detailed monthly bills and negates the need for regular recharging,” says Mohammed Al Fahim, executive vice president, marketing, Etisalat. “By allowing prepaid ‘Wasel’ users to upgrade without changing their number or the SIM card – which may include personal numbers and data – we are bringing our customers the freedom and ease of using their phone first and paying later,” he adds.
“The process to shift from ‘Wasel’ to postpaid GSM will be easy and fast. The customer need only visit their nearest Etisalat Business Centre, and with the necessary documentation, will be immediately migrated to the postpaid system,” Al Fahim adds.
Shifting to the postpaid GSM system enables the customers access to services such as receiving a detailed bill, signing up for the international roaming facility and many other features, including the free Etisalat Calling Card (ECC).
