Middle East streaming platform OSN has entered a multi-year exclusive licensing deal with Warner Bros. Discovery, making it the official platform to stream all HBO content in the Middle East and North Africa.
The multi-year licensing deal extends OSN’s rights to broadcast and stream content from HBO exclusively on OSNtv and OSN+, strengthening its market-leading position.
“We’ve been working with HBO for almost a decade. We’re doubling down on the strategy, I’d like to announce today that we’re signing a multi-year exclusive mega licensing deal with HBO, that will cement us as the home of HBO for the Middle East and North Africa,” said Joe Kawkabani, CEO, OSN.
“On the back of successes such as House of the Dragon and The Last of Us, alongside a range of other exclusive and premium series, it is clear that HBO is a leader in first-class experiences, and we look forward to delivering these and other content pieces that have secured OSN as a leading choice of platform in the region,” Kawkabani added.
The announcement was made at an exclusive event in Dubai, in attendance with the Succession’s, Brian Cox, who also briefly addressed the audience and announced the final season of the show which will stream on OSN, the same time that the episode airs in the US, on March 27.
Through the expansion of the partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery, the OSN platform will be home to content including The Batman, The Matrix Resurrections, The Suicide Squad, The Big Bang Theory and Friends.
Additionally, part of the announcement was the launch of a new channel to stream HBO classics including The Wire, The Sopranos and Sex & the City.

The deal includes the extension of the distribution of Discovery Channels: Discovery, TLC, ID and Discovery Science and other additional channels through the service.
