Information Appliances International (IAI) has made its Arabic Palm development platform, APOS, available to Symbol Technologies and its resellers throughout the Middle East. The APOS will enable the delivery of Arabic computing solutions to Symbol’s handheld devices.
“Symbol is the global leader in wireless data transaction systems, bar code data capture and vertical handheld computing solutions. It is the ideal partner for IAI in extending the APOS platform into the many vertical markets that rely on these capabilities,” says Ayad Sleiman, IAI president and CEO.

The APOS platform is an open software architecture for Arabic handheld computing that provides third-party developers with a base to create and deliver Arabic mobile computing solutions.
