Andrew Tate’s phones and laptops have been seized and are being searched as part of an ongoing investigation by Romanian authorities on suspicion of human trafficking, rape and forming an organised crime group, according to reports.
Ramona Bolla, a spokesperson for Romania’s DIICOT confirmed that the devices are being forensically examined.
On Wednesday, the Tate brothers were escorted in handcuffs from a police van to the Directorate for Investigating Organised Crime and Terrorism (DIICOT) offices in Bucharest.
Andrew Tate’s car collection
Earlier this month, Arabian Business reported that Andrew and Tristan Tate’s car collection, estimated to be worth over $5 million has been seized by Romanian authorities, several properties where the brothers resided has also been seized, a Romanian news agency reported.
Among the 11 cars seized is a Bugatti Chiron worth an estimated $3 million, a Rolls Royce Wraith worth around $400,000. Other cars include a Porsche and Aston Martin.
Bolla said that the authorities were investigating on if the cars were purchased using funds acquired from human trafficking.
Andrew Tate still remains in custody following his arrest in Bucharest, on suspicion of human trafficking, rape and forming an organised crime group.
The week after Tate’s car collection was seized the court rejected Andrew Tate’s appeal to end the 30-day detention following his arrest in Bucharest on suspicion of human trafficking, rape and forming an organised crime group.
The judge who extended the initial detention period of 24 hours reportedly said that considering the brothers’ “financial capacity, the possibility of them evading investigations cannot be ignored,” further explaining they could potentially “leave Romania and settle in countries that do not allow extradition.”
