Another emirate has announced a 50 per cent discount on traffic fines as the UAE approaches its 51st national Day.
Abu Dhabi, Ajman and Umm Al Quwain had previously announced discounts for motorists.
Now, Fujairah Police have made a similar decision.
From November 29th onwards motorists in the emirate will see traffic fines slashed for a period of 60 days. As in other emirates the reduction does not include fines levied for more serious offences. Black points against motorists in the emirate will also be cancelled.
The discount in Fujairah applies to fines handed out before November 26.
UAE traffic fines
Colonel Saleh Mohammad Abdullah Al Dhanhani, Director of Traffic and Patrols Department at Fujairah Police, advised motorists to take advantage of the discount offer and pay off their accumulated fines.
Umm Al Quwain and Ajman have also offered 50 per cent discount to motorists paying traffic fines promptly. Abu Dhabi, meanwhile, is offering a 35 per cent discount on accumulated fines if they are settled promptly.
