Palm Utilities is to supply 200,000TR to Jumeirah Village South in a deal that includes the construction of six district cooling facilities for the development.

Work is underway on three of the facilities, including one for the Jumeirah Village South Circle which will supply 150,000TR. A separate facility is to deliver 50,000TR to Jumeirah Village South Triangle.

The firm has also announced plans to set up field offices in Abu Dhabi as it looks to expand its operations in the region. Figures from the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA) recently indicated a 43% increase in the demand for water resources over the next five years.

Chairman of Palm Utilities Ahmed Butti explained. “The number of projects being commissioned has increased considerably as developers and master planners acknowledge the long-term impact in terms of sustainability, efficiency and pricing.”
