Qatar celebrates National Day

Qatari armed forces have taken part in a military parade as part of the Gulf emirate’s National Day celebrations in Doha. The parade has been an annual event since the holiday was established in 2007, marking 18 December 1878, when Sheikh Jasim, founder of the State of Qatar, succeeded his father as the ruler and led the country towards unity.
