The National Media Council (NMC) has established a special channel on YouTube to showcase many of the films that it has supported over the past decade, according to a report by newswire WAM on Sunday.

The channel, named ‘Films on UAE’, includes extracts from award-winning favourites produced with support from the NMC, such as Feast of Dates, Creative Energy, Building the Emirates; 24/7, a film on the UAE demining programme in Southern Lebanon and films recently shown at the UAE Pavilion in EXPO 2010.

On the opening of the new channel, Minister of Public Works and chairman of National Media Council, HH Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, said: “These films provide a valuable record of the UAE’s impressive progress and celebrate our history, culture and modern development. They are also a tribute to the sustained efforts of the National Media Council to create a first class media record of the country”.
