Tests for Covid-19 in Abu Dhabi are being conducted free of charge for anyone showing symptoms of the deadly virus.
The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH), has also announced that there will be no charge for testing of the elderly, pregnant women and people who have chronic diseases.
A statement from the DoH said: “The coronavirus test is one of the key steps to curbing the spread of the virus and one of the most influential preventative measures to maintain the health and well-being of the community.”
Testing is available to the wider members of the community who are looking to check up on their health status and confirm they are virus free, for a cost of AED370 as previously set, covering only the examination.
The UAE has already been recognised as being among the top five nations in terms of testing for Covid-19, while it was revealed on Sunday that 26,000 additional tests had been carried out.
There are currently 14,163 confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UAE and 126 deaths reported to date.
