UAE air traffic movements reached the 52,000 mark last month – an increase of 11.3 percent compared to May – according to the latest General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) figures.
The aviation watchdog’s monthly report for June showed that Dubai had the most traffic movements with 23,824 flights, the official news agency WAM reports.
Abu Dhabi saw 7,815 air traffic movements, while over flights accounted for 11,292 movements, according to the report published on Monday.
Meanwhile, the recently opened Al Maktoum International Airport witnessed four movements.
Last month, aviation officials also signed memoranda of understanding regarding air transportation with the Republic of Rwanda and Barbados, as well as Brazil, WAM reports.
Some 400 new air crew licences were issued during that time, 205 licences were renewed and 73 temporary permits were approved, the report said.
