BHEL sounds out UAE prospects

Indian power equipment manufacturer and power project exporter Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has made a breakthrough in the Middle East market with an export contract for two gas turbine generating units of 42 MW each from the UAE.

Indian power equipment manufacturer and power project exporter Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has made a breakthrough in the Middle East market with an export contract for two gas turbine generating units of 42 MW each from the UAE.

Valued at US $38 million, the order has been received from Al Ghail Power LLC, a company wholly owned by Ras Al Khaimah Investment Authority (RAKIA).

The Middle East is one of BHEL’s key export regions, where it has so far set up 14 power projects, in addition to substations and the supply of equipment for the power and oil and gas sectors.
