Tameer to promote $500mn Jordan project

Dubai property firm will push Madinat Al Majd development at Cityscape.

Dubai-based property firm Tameer will promote its first project in Jordan at this month’s Cityscape real estate expo, the company said on Monday.

The $500 million Madinat Al Majd development is the firm’s first modern gated community in Jordan and will include 18,500 residential units capable of housing more than 50,000 people.

The 200-hectare complex will be located between Zarqa’a and the capital Amman, and include schools, hospitals, medical and community centres, play grounds, commercial units, offices, retail shops, and shopping centres.

“Our participation will underline the strategic importance that a huge project like ‘Madinat Al Majd’ brings to the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and reflects our determination to explore all avenues of cooperation and investment,’ Mohamed Habib, General Manager for Tameer International, said in a statement.

Other Tameer projects include the Princess Tower and Elite Residence in Dubai and Al Salam City in Umm Al Quwain.
