Crown Bevcan Europe & Middle East, a division of Crown Holdings, Inc (Crown) has developed a new generation of print technology which significantly enhances the quality of images it can reproduce on beverage cans. The canmaker has developed a groundbreaking new technique, entitled HQP, which extends the traditional studio print reproduction process.

HQP makes use of special, laser-etched printing plates, which allow for improved dot separation, leading to superior print reproduction of complex images on cans. As such, the technique is particularly suitable for reproducing fine detail images such as human or animal faces, fruit and fine text.

“The use of fine detailed images on packaging is an increasingly popular In the Middle East as marketeers look to help differentiate their products from the competition,” said Caroline Archer-Reed, marketing director for Crown Bevcan Europe & Middle East.

“Offering our customers the capability to reproduce near picture perfect quality images on can will help to further enhance their products and deliver eye catching presence on supermarket shelves,” she added.

The new technology is now exclusively available from Crown across the Middle East.

Crown Bevcan Europe & Middle East operates 13 beverage can and end facilities across Europe, the Middle East and North Africa.

All of the company’s plants in the area are joint ventures with its local partners, A.H. Algosaibi & Bro, a large Saudi holding company. Crown’s partnership with the group in the Middle East dates back some 25 years.
