Dubai’s Al Nasr in $2.3m bid to sign West Brom star

UAE club’s previous offer for Peter Odemwingie was rejected as too low – report

Dubai football club Al Nasr has increased its offer to sign Nigerian striker Peter Osaze Odemwingie from English club West Bromwich Albion, just says after negotiations with the Premier League club had stalled, it has been reported.

In the last few days, Al Nasr entered into fresh talks to sign the 32-year-old footballer, the Express & Star news paper reported.

The UAE club previously made a bid of £850,000 ($1.31m), which was rejected as too low by West Bromwich Albion officials. Al Nasr officials are now believed to have increased their offer to £1.5m ($2.3m) in a bid to sign the player, the report said.

Another potential stumbling block is the fact Odemwingie is believed to be reluctant to move abroad and is keen to remain playing in the English Premier League.

Rival British clubs West Ham and Fulham are also reportedly in talks to sign the striker. Club officials have four weeks to decide on the offers currently on the table for potential transfers.
