As part of the wider e-government project, Dubai residents can now beat the queues at police traffic departments and pay their fines online.

Dubai residents can now beat the queues at police traffic departments and pay their fines online.

The new Dubai Traffic Police web site:

www.dxbtraffic.gov.ae

, allows the public to log in, check their fines using their registration number, driving license number or car registration number, and then pay using any credit card.

The service has been developed in conjunction with the National Bank of Dubai and Comtrust, but customers of any bank can use the Web site to pay fines.

The traffic system, which is another part of Dubai’s e-government roll-out, links into the police departments of Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. The e-payment is secured using well established Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology from Comtrust.
