Telecoms network solutions vendor Huawei has been selected by Worldcall Group, one of the fastest emerging telecoms groups in Pakistan, to deploy a code division multiple access (CDMA) wireless local loop (WLL) network.
Under the terms of the deal Huawei will provide Worldcall — one of the largest private telecoms operators in Pakistan —with civil engineering, infrastructure deployment, management and optimisation services.
The new CDMA WLL network will be built on Huawei’s CDMA softswitch solution and 450/479MHz base transceiver system (BTS).
Based on its controller-and-bearer separated architecture, Huawei claimed that its CDMA softswitch solution would enhance network security, reduce transmission costs and provide large capacity for operators.
“Huawei is a dynamic company full of the customer-driven spirit. I believe Huawei’s CDMA solution will enable Worldcall to deploy networks quickly, and enhance our service quality and ability,” said Salmaan Taseer, chairman of Worldcall Group.
“We look forward to further cooperation between Worldcall and Huawei,” he added.
