Red Hat Linux distributor Opennet Middle East and Africa has announced the availability of support packages for the SMB market.
The master distributor and authorised Certified Training Centre for Red Hat Linux in the MENA region hopes that the new support services will help SMBs to increase their uptake of open source solutions, as a cost effective approach to technology.
Several levels of support will be available, including packages for up to four separate servers, with phone and email support, dedicated technical account managers plus training including workshops, knowledge transfer, technical presentations and systems admin training. The packages will also include the option to earn Red Hat Certified Technician certification.
David Allinson, general manager at Opennet MEA commented: “One of the traditional arguments against open source has been the lack of available support. Opennet has so far addressed the needs of the larger enterprises with onsite support services. However, with SMBs today beginning to embrace open source applications, their need for top-notch support services has prompted our new offering to address these requirements.
“We need to do something in this economy to extend a hand to our customers and we need to demonstrate our leadership in the market now. These offerings represent sound and timely IT investments that bring value by providing the kind of functionality companies need to invest in to improve efficiencies and achieve cost savings,” he added.
Opennet is also looking at offering the support packages through selected channel partners in the region.
