Red Sea Global (RSG), the multi-project developer, has announced the refurbishment of Al Wajh Airport (EJH), situated on the Red Sea coast of Saudi Arabia. The move is RSG’s first project in its expanded portfolio.
The primary aim of this development is to modernise the airport and align it with international standards.
“Last year, Red Sea Global announced a growing portfolio of projects stretching along the Red Sea coast of Saudi Arabia. Today I can reveal the first of those projects is to refurbish Al Wajh Airport, making it a modern airport for the people of Tabuk. It’s an honor to be the developer of choice for this important work, ensuring Al Wajh is ready and equipped to support the needs of the growing local community,” John Pagano, Group CEO of Red Sea Global said.
The major redevelopment plan includes the enhancement of the existing terminal and infrastructure, along with the construction of a new international terminal.
This expansion is expected to facilitate increased direct flights, which will bolster connectivity and generate job opportunities for local residents.

Moreover, it will serve as a gateway to the Amaala destination, another remarkable project by RSG.
The airport will also serve as a pivotal hub for Fly Red Sea, the Kingdom’s pioneering seaplane company, further underlining its strategic importance.
Red Sea Global’s commitment to aviation development doesn’t stop at Al Wajh Airport. In a recent milestone, their Red Sea International Airport (RSI) welcomed its first domestic flight, and a regular schedule is now in operation.
In addition, RSG is working on a second private airport located in proximity to The Red Sea and Amaala destinations.
As part of the modernisation effort at EJH, several SAUDIA flights will be transferred from EJH to RSI starting from October 29.
This shift will impact flights between EJH and Riyadh (RUH) with scheduled arrivals and departures.
RSI is also set to begin operations with flights to and from King Abdulaziz International Airport (JED) in Jeddah, providing an essential service for travellers.

For passengers who have existing bookings for Al Wajh Airport, they will be automatically redirected to RSI.
To ensure a seamless transition, Red Sea Global will offer complimentary shuttle services between RSI, Al Wajh Airport, and Umluj.
In addition to the airport developments, the first two hotels at the Red Sea International Airport have begun accepting bookings.
Upon full completion in 2030, the destination will feature 50 resorts, offering a substantial number of hotel rooms and residential properties across various sites.
The project will also include marinas, golf courses, entertainment, dining, and leisure facilities, further enriching the region’s appeal.
