Therefore, the Academy motivates and inspires young minds to aspire to achieve excellence in education with the help of well-qualified multi-national faculty with international teaching credentials.

Dubai International Academy (DIA) was established with the aim of offering excellence in education through international programmes of study that will prepare students for leadership roles and help them become lifelong learners for the Global Knowledge Economy.

The Academy focuses on pursuing excellence in a balanced academic environment that nurtures intellectual, emotional, physical and social development. Its stimulating curriculum integrates a variety of cross-curricular activities and uses structured inquiry as an ideal approach to learning.

DIA aspires to achieve and set, within the framework of the Geneva-based International Baccalaureate, world-class standards of education and an all-round development.

DIA is an ‘IB World School’ and is the first school in UAE to have been authorised by the IB for the continuum of the full IB curriculum, the Diploma Programme, the Middle Years Programme and the Primary Years Programme.

The school has a student body of over 1,695 students from 73 different nationalities plus over 200 staff members from 23 different nationalities.

It has over 80 classrooms and specialist rooms for music, art, dance, drama and language learning, well-equipped science and computer labs, networked libraries, climate controlled multi-purpose halls for a wide range of sports, swimming pools, playing fields, basketball and shaded tennis courts, and a cafeteria in a vibrant and modern environment. The faculty responds sensitively to the needs of students by giving them personalized attention, structured learning environments to respect individual differences, and providing a variety of informal learning activities for students.

DIA offers a variety of structured after school activities for students. The programmes provide students with opportunities to develop areas of competence outside of academics and benefit their self-esteem.

Activities include a range of: sports; art; reading clubs; writing and publishing online; music; drama; team competitions; karate; computer courses; science club; photography and others, all offered in a supervised setting.

Students of Dubai International Academy recently showcased their creative, artistic and analytical skills at their annual “Personal Projects” exhibition.

The key objective of the one-day exhibition titled “Personal Projects” was to engage the students to apply critical thinking methods, as they investigated, planned and created their own project before presenting their work.

Each student was allowed to choose from one of five areas of interaction – “Homo Faber”, which is aimed at developing opportunities to appreciate the human capacity and drive to create, improve, enjoy, invent and transform the quality of life; Health and education, Community and Service, Environment and Approaches to learning.

In celebrating creativity students took a deep personal interest in their chosen topic and a holistic approach in analysing it. Each student was assigned a supervisor to ensure progress and that they were on the right track.

The months of hard work was evident at the exhibition stands, which covered a range of subjects including composing music, global warming, diabetes, technology, water crisis, pollution, landmarks of Dubai and recycling. The exhibition even included for the first time, a play and a fashion show.

The annual Personal Projects exhibition gives students an opportunity to get a better understanding of the society they live in, and also allows them to review and analyse the benefits of their learning through an interactive and logical process.

At Dubai International Academy, we are committed to providing the guidance and ambience that foster the creative spirit, as a part of the complete learning process that is both enriching and exciting.
