Celebrity-favourite Indian restaurant to open in Dubai

Mumbai-based Khyber, which hosts regulars such as Amir Khan and Sir Paul McCartney, will serve northern Indian cuisine

Award-winning Indian restaurant Khyber will open its doors in Dukes Dubai on the Palm Jumeirah this Tuesday.

The Mumbai-based fine dining concept, which will serve traditional northern Indian cuisine, is located on the 15th floor of the recently-opened hotel. It will overlook a 180-degree view of the Dubai Marina skyline and the Burj Al Arab.

The Dubai venue is the first of its kind to open outside of its native Mumbai, where it is a favourite among celebrities such as Amir Khan, Sir Paul McCartney, Richard Gere and Demi Moore. The Kuwait royal family is also said to be a regular at the restaurant.

“Khyber is an iconic name, anybody who talks about Mumbai, knows about our restaurant and Dukes Dubai is the only venue that can recreate its splendour; the hotel is palatial, regal and looks magnificent,” said Khyber owner Sudheer Bahl.

The Dubai restaurant will have a capacity of up to 162 guests, including 40 diners on the terrace. Khyber will boast a live cooking station and numerous private dining options.

Highlights from its menu include Tandoori Raan, a tender leg of baby lamb cooked in a clay oven, Makai ki Tikki, corn patties, Five Grains Tandoori Roti, a wholewheat bread cooked in the tandoor and Hara Masala Pomfret, whole pomfret stuffed with mild coconut and coriander chutney. The menu also features nine different types of roti bread.

Aesthetically, the new Dubai restaurant will feature the same ethnic style as the flagship Khyber restaurant.
