Alexander McQueen brand to open Dubai boutique

McQ is a streamlined, more affordable version of the British designer’s label

The diffusion line of the iconic British brand Alexander McQueen will open its first stand-alone store in the region on February 14, at Dubai’s Mall of the Emirates.

McQ is a streamlined, more affordable version of the British designer’s label which still portrays the brand’s aesthetics, quality and standards.

The signatures of the house, including structured tailoring, the nipped-in waist and tartan, are distilled into everyday wearable pieces for both men and women.

McQ collections often reference uniform and the military, drawing inspiration from Britain’s rich heritage. Traditional British techniques and fabrics are used in contemporary ways, creating pieces that are both functional and modern.

Founded by the late Lee Alexander McQueen in 2005 and currently under the creative direction of Sarah Burton, the brand’s first global flagship opened on London’s Dover Street in the summer of 2012.

Prices for this commercial line range from $160-$1,600.
