If you could reverse ageing and live a longer, healthier life, would you? The Dubai-based AEON Clinic has a variety of different treatments to supercharge the human experience.
According to the clinic’s founder, Dr. Jaffer Khan, doctors in today’s age are still treating symptoms instead of looking at the fact that ageing is causing some of the most common diseases like high blood pressure and cholesterol.
“People are happy to continuously take a tablet to control symptoms which can largely be resolved by a holistic approach to ageing,” he explains.
As a renowned plastic surgeon, Dr. Khan has spent over two decades helping people look their best aesthetically by making them look younger or improving their body form. This sparked his interest in tackling the underlying issue: ageing.
“I was very inspired when I spoke to some proponents of functional and regenerative medicine who look at ageing as a disease, because they understand that for the most part, ageing results in manifestations such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and cancer,” he tells Arabian Business.
“It also reflects on our external appearance. This got me thinking a little bit more about what the next decade of healthcare would look like, where for the most part we would like to live in a world free of medications.”
Revolutionising healthcare
People who feel well, will look well, he believes. This led him to set up the AEON Clinic, which is based out of Dubai’s Atlantis The Royal, where he dedicates his entire practice to addressing the physical manifestations of ageing through an array of treatments.
AEON Clinic offers a wide range of advanced treatments to promote health, wellness and anti-ageing. These include regenerative therapies such as stem cell injections, exosome therapy and PRP to rejuvenate the body at a cellular level. They also provide wellness programmes focused on nutrition, stress management, laser therapies and male/female health using integrated Eastern and Western medical approaches.

“We have two distinct modalities; one is our chronological age which we cannot change because that is our date of birth. The biological age can be reversed and there are specific measures of biological age that we use to determine these in an objective manner, such as DNA methylation and telomere length,” he says.
Through these techniques and advanced diagnostics, doctors are able to determine the health level of the patient, how well they have looked after themselves in their ageing process, and whether they are ahead of the game or “in a state of inflammation,” what he calls “inflammageing.” Once determined, the clinic’s programmes introduce modalities including ozone therapy, Airpod oxygen therapy, and gut health analysis to target ageing at the cellular level.
Popular treatments include stem cell therapy and red light therapy, he says.
Stem cell therapy has been around for around 10 years and has been used by many top class athletes. It has been used in the orthopaedic space to help regenerate cartilage, decrease osteoarthritis and inflammation and hence, help with mobility and reduce pain.
“For the most part, however, our journey is one of anti-ageing and when we look at success stories, we look at things like weight loss, increase of muscles mass, increased levels of energy and reduction of alcohol consumption, all of which result in a much better wellbeing.”

Also available at the AEON Clinic, Red Light Therapy is an advanced & non-invasive procedure that uses low levels of red and near-infrared (NIR) light to boost inherent stem cell and regenerative processes, as well as tissue healing and pain relief in a broad spectrum of soft tissue injuries & diseases.
Red Light Therapy can tackle skin conditions, chronic pain, and injuries among other issues by stimulating the body’s “battery cells,” Dr. Khan says.
