Al Osais Contracting, part of Saudi Arabia’s diversified business group, Al Osais International Holding Company, is to become the Kingdom’s first user of SAP’s engineering and construction (EC&O) solution.
The construction company is the first in the group to implement a SAP solution following a decision to select SAP for its enterprise resourse planning (ERP) software solution.
Al Osais said that by implementing SAP’s Engineering, Construction and Operations (EC&O) solutions it would realise immediate benefits in the way it controlled projects and integrated with its various customers.
It also said SAP’s business map for EC&O was stable – important for a growing group like Al Osais when deciding on new software.
“We are a large group with large customers across the Kingdom, so we must be very organised to stay competitive,” said Tareq Al Moraisel, board member of Al Osais International Holding.
“SAP’s EC&O solutions will help us significantly improve our ability to control projects and facilitate integration with our customers.
Essam Enany, president, SAP Arabia said that he expected EC&O business to grow when orgnisations heard about the immediate benefits Al Osais Contracting was realising.
Saudi Arabia is already the largest SAP market in the region with a 44% share, according to 2005 figures. Total ERP-type spend in MENA reached $187million in 2005, representing an increase of 16% year-on-year.
