WW2 statue in US draws Japan protest

A statue in a public park in California has stirred controversy. The monument honours the thousands of so-called ‘comfort women’ – mostly Korean and Chinese women who were used as sex slaves by Japanese soldiers during the Second World War. The Japanese government is protesting against the new statue and has called for its removal.
