Mobile phone giant i2 has launched i2 TV, the first 24-hour station dedicated to all things mobile. i2 CEO Abdul Hameed Al Sunaid says the new station will help i2 interact with its customers.

i2 claims that its new TV station is the first in the world dedicated to mobile telecommunications. i2 TV airs 24 hours a day in Arabic on Nile Sat 103 and covers the entire Middle East region.

“i2 TV is the first television station in the world that is dedicated completely to mobile telecommunication and technology,” says Izzat Kittaneh, managing director at i2 TV. “We have state of the art production equipment, making us the first TV station in the region to run without the use of tapes.”

The launch of the new station forms part of i2’s customer-focused expansion plan, which includes several new innovative customer touch points. i2 has already carved out an impressive position as a leading mobile phone distributor, retailer and service provider across the Middle East. Since the launch of the company’s new brand identity a year ago as i2, customers have benefited from and enjoyed the i2 club, i2 magazine and also the i2 café concept.

“i2 TV is our newest customer touch point launched to educate consumers on the benfits of their mobile phones and attend to their needs in a way never done before,” says CEO Al Sunaid. “With the launch of i2 TV we feel confident that we have a solid communication platform to better interact with our valued customers.”

i2 now has more than 1300 staff and 350 stores spanning 20 countries. At this year’s GITEX, i2 is again showing its commitment to customers and its innovative streak that keeps it one step ahead of the competition.
