Kuwait has begun construction work on two large-scale residential projects that form part of its ‘New Kuwait 2035’ vision, it was announced on Wednesday.

The projects - South Sabah Al Ahmad residential city and South Saad Al Abdullah city - are slated for completion in 2029.

According to media reports, steady progress is being made on both projects, with nearly 10 percent of work completed at South Sabah Al Ahmad residential city and 11 percent at South Sabah Al Abdullah city.

Work is also continuing at a steady pace at the Abdullah Al Mubarak suburb project, with approximately 35 percent of the development finished. It is slated for completion by 2025.

Approximately 39 percent of South Al Mutlaa City – Kuwait’s largest housing project – has been completed.

The development, which includes 28,363 units, is expected to wrap up construction by 2023.
