Abu Dhabi’s Liwa sign claims Guinness crown as world’s tallest landmark structure

Al Dhafra Region Municipality in Abu Dhabi has set a new Guinness World Record, as per a statement by the Abu Dhabi Media Office.

The municipality has achieved the title of the world’s tallest landmark sign with its latest installation, for Liwa, a region located within the Al Dhafra municipality.

At a height of 221 metres, the metal sign stands tall on top of a hill 197 metres above sea level. Weighing 49 tonnes, it towers over other landmark signs across the globe.

The municipality has embarked on several projects to promote Al Dhafra as a leading cultural and tourism area in the emirate.
