Ain Dubai to remain closed until further notice

The attraction will remain closed indefinitely to complete “enhancement works”

Ain Dubai, the world’s biggest and tallest Ferris wheel located on Bluewaters Island, has been closed for maintenance since March 2022. Previously set to open in the first quarter of 2023, in the latest update by Ain Dubai, it was announced that the attraction will continue to remain closed until further notice.

The giant wheel first opened in October 2021 but soon after, the attraction closed for maintenance in March 2022 and has remained closed ever since.

The official website issued an ‘Important Update’ saying, “Ain Dubai remains closed until further notice as we continue to rigorously work on completing the enhancement works that have been taking place over the past months.”

This time Ain Dubai has not provided details for a potential opening date, unlike previous announcements. “Once a reopening date is set, a further announcement will be made. In line with our commitment to offering guests an experience unlike any other, we look forward to introducing new and exciting offers when we re-open Ain Dubai for visitors to enjoy from across the globe,” the update read.

In March 2022, it was announced that the iconic observation wheel would be closed until the end of Ramadan which was then extended until the end of summer, a further extension was announced until Q1 2023 and the final update has announced closure until further notice.

Located on Bluewaters Island, the observation wheel stands at a height of 250 meters, making it the highest and largest globally. The weight of the wheel is equivalent to four A380 aircrafts.

Ain Dubai was designed to give 360-degree views of the skyline, with 48 air-conditioned passenger cabins, holding 1,750 visitors in one revolution. The attraction stands at nearly twice the height of London Eye.
