Dubai’s Hatta mountain marker has bagged the title of the ‘Tallest Landmark Sign’ according to Guinness World Records.
The sign, located at the Hajar Mountains, stands at 19.28 metres, surpassing the renowned Hollywood sign, which measures 13.7 metres.
Visitors at Hatta, one of the UAE’s rapidly changing tourist destinations, can embark on a 30-minute hike from Hatta Wadi Hub to reach this landmark. This Hollywood-style sign is visible in the night as well.
Hatta Master Development Plan
Situated near the border with Oman, Hatta has already established itself as an adventure enthusiast’s haven, offering activities like mountain biking and kayaking.

The Hatta Master Development Plan, aligned with Dubai’s 2040 Urban Master Plan, aims to further boost tourism, commerce, and investments in the region.
In October 2021, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Ruler of Dubai, unveiled an ambitious vision for Hatta, proposing the creation of a beach, a new lake, a cable railway, multiple hotels, and an extensive network of bicycle paths spanning 120 kilometres.
In addition, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed, Crown Prince of Dubai, established a supreme committee to oversee this colossal project.
Dubai Tourism introduced ‘The Highlands of Dubai’ campaign in December, highlighting Hatta’s pleasant climate and natural charm. The ongoing developments in Hatta prioritise the well-being of its residents and aim to offer diverse experiences to visitors.
Sheikh Mohammed’s visit to the Hatta Souq in February revealed the combination of modern and traditional design elements.

The Souq accommodates various shops, sales platforms, food carts, a children’s playground, and public facilities, serving as a platform for residents to showcase their crafts, agricultural produce, and commercial ventures.
Moreover, plans are in motion for the eagerly awaited Hatta Beach Project, expected to be a year-round tourist destination.
The project will feature the Crystal Lagoon, an artificial lake with a beach area, leisure and entertainment facilities, as well as a plethora of shoreline activities and watersports.
