Qatar’s legendary high jumper, Mutaz Barshim, the reigning Olympics and World champion, has been named as the new brand ambassador of Qatar Tourism.
The 32-year-old, winner of gold medal in 2020 Tokyo, silver medal in 2016 Rio and bronze medal in the 2012 London Games, is also the only high jumper to win five World Championship medals.
The Doha-born Barshim, who has a personal best jump of 2.43 meters, will be the face of Qatar Tourism’s campaigns from now to September 2024.

Qatar Tourism is gearing up for world-class events in the coming months. Residents and visitors are set to enjoy the upcoming Geneva International Motor Show, F1 Qatar Airways Qatar Grand Prix 2023 and Expo 2023 Doha, which are scheduled for October 2023. This will be followed by the 2023 Qatar Airways Qatar MotoGP in November.
Qatar Tourism regulates and develops the tourism industry in the country, encouraging investment from the private sector. It sets the national strategy for the tourism sector, reviewing it periodically and overseeing its implementation, with the aim of diversifying tourism offerings in the country and increasing visitor spend.
