Oman’s Sultan Qaboos University’s Earthquake Monitoring Centre has reported a moderate earthquake in Hormozgan, southern Iran.
The earthquake, which measured 4.6 on the Richter scale, occurred at 2:20 PM local time, and had a depth of 10 KM.
The epicenter was located at a distance of 194 KM from the Wilayat of Khasab in the Governorate of Musandam, a report by the Times of Oman said.

Oman earthquakes in 2023
On April 13, the UAE National Center of Meteorology (NCM) issued a warning regarding an earthquake measuring 5.8 magnitude that occurred in the Arabian Sea at 7:24AM.
The earthquake was reportedly recorded 10 kilometers beneath the seabed near the Sur port city of Oman. However, the NCM confirmed that the UAE was not affected by the tremor and no reports of damages or injuries were received from residents.
In March, another earthquake was recorded in Oman with a magnitude of 4.1 in the Duqm region. Although residents reported feeling the tremor, no damages or injuries were reported.
