In a new viral video, a Talabat delivery rider was seen eating a customer’s order from the delivery box. The incident reportedly took place in Bahrain.
While some have condemned the act as a breach of trust and professionalism, others have come to the rider’s defense, pointing out the demanding nature of their job.
Talabat suspends delivery rider
In response to the growing online uproar, Talabat has issued a statement asserting that they are taking the incident seriously, as per local reports.
“We recently became aware of a video showing a rider poorly handling an order, which is against our health and safety policies. Even though this has been confirmed as a cancelled order, the rider has been immediately suspended pending further investigation,” the spokesperson added.
The delivery rider has reportedly been suspended and Talabat is “investigating the incident,” reports said citing Talabat’s response.
Talabat recently launched a new initiative for their delivery riders working during the summer months by providing them solar powered rest areas, which have water dispensers and mobile recharge stations.
