Renowned Yogi Sadhguru will attend a series of crucial panel discussions and fireside chats alongside leading experts at COP28 UAE.
The discussions will take place at the Save Soil pavilion in the accredited Blue Zone, and will be supported by esteemed organisations such as UNCCD, UNEP, UNFAO, IUCN, and the World Food Programme.
Save Soil, a global response to the climate crisis, aims to convey the message that soils are not mere victims, but can serve as a profound solution to climate change.
“Soil being alive is the most important thing because the strength of the soil determines the strength of every life,” Sadhguru, the founder of Save Soil said, highlighting the vitality of soil.
COP28 UAE, scheduled from November 30 to December 10, will witness the active participation of Save Soil, with its dedicated pavilion in the Blue Zone.
Sadhguru Spotlight: Soil and Climate
Sadhguru himself will be present for various conversations and panel discussions, shedding light on the critical role of healthy, living soils in mitigating climate change and ensuring food security, biodiversity enhancement, carbon sequestration, and pollution reduction.
In a collaborative effort with Impact Nest and UNHCR, Sadhguru will also address the issue of climate-induced migration during ‘The Wake Up Experience’ event on December 5, coinciding with World Soil Day.
This event aims to explore solutions to the challenges posed by migration as a consequence of climate change.
Save Soil has successfully reached over 4 billion people worldwide, spreading awareness of the movement’s significance.
Sadhguru’s Global Soil Advocacy Journey
During Sadhguru’s 30,000km motorcycle journey for the Save Soil movement in March 2022, he engaged with leaders and citizens in each country, advocating for national policies and actions that prioritise increasing soil organic matter to ensure soil health and thriving.
The movement has since produced 7 specific Soil Policy Handbooks, in collaboration with eminent soil scientists, and has cataloged sustainable soil management solutions for all 193 nations.
At COP28, Save Soil endeavors to elevate the importance of healthy, living soils as a solution to climate change, placing it firmly on the international agenda.
The Save Soil Pavilion, located on the first floor of the Blue Zone (TA2-210), will serve as a hub for knowledge exchange and awareness-building.
In addition to his COP28 engagements, Sadhguru will host a meditation programme titled ‘Sadhguru in Dubai – Meet, Mingle and Meditate’ on December 9 at Dubai’s Coca-Cola Arena.
The event is expected to draw participation from over 12,000 individuals.
