Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, has appreciated the heartwarming actions of Jamal Abdulrahman, an official from the Community Development Authority in Dubai.
The video, which has now gone viral, captured Abdulrahman’s empathetic interaction with an elderly Emirati woman.
Sheikh Hamdan applauds Jamal Abdulrahman’s actions
In response to this gesture, Sheikh Hamdan took to his personal social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to express his admiration and support.
“I was pleased with the wonderful position of Brother Jamal Abdul Rahman from the Community Development Authority in Dubai, which reflects our societal values and our culture that urges respect for the elderly, help for the young, and humility to people,” the Crown Prince said in a tweet.
“We are a government and an authority to serve people and not an authority over them as His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum taught us. I thank the Authority team Community Development led by Sister Hessa Bu Hamid for their keenness to serve Dubai society and its citizens, old and young, and their efforts and presence in the field.
“In Dubai, the citizen will remain first, second, and third. Caring for people, preserving their dignity, and achieving their happiness will remain the highest thing we strive for.”
He underlined the significance of Abdulrahman’s actions, which he believes epitomise the core values and cherished culture of Dubai, particularly in regard to respecting the elderly and supporting the youth.
Sheikh Hamdan emphasised that these actions are in alignment with the teachings of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
Dubai government’s commitment to service
According to Sheikh Hamdan, the purpose of Dubai’s government is not to rule over the people but to serve them, guided by a deep commitment to the welfare of its citizens.
Gratitude was also extended by Sheikh Hamdan towards the entire team at the Community Development Authority in Dubai, with specific recognition given to its leader, Hessa bint Essa Buhumaid, Director General of Dubai’s Community Development Authority.
He praised their unwavering dedication to serving the diverse needs of the Dubai community across all generations.
