Saudi-based Red Sea Housing Services Company has signed a SR75 million ($20 million) contract with the Government of Papua New Guinea (PNG) for the construction and development of housing units for the local police force.
The Jeddah-headquartered company, which provides housing solutions for firms in the oil and gas and mining sectors, will build 150 three-bedroom homes on an a 70,000 sq m plot of land in the Bomana area, Port Moresby.
The project is expected to be completed in 10 months from the date of signing the contract, Red Sea said in a statement.
Kenneth Clinton, general manager of Red Sea Housing Services – Papua New Guinea, said: “The agreement provides a turnkey solution for the immediate needs of the Royal PNG Constabulary in the National Capital District.
“By building these new housing units, the Government intends to boost the morale of the members of the police force and further their exceptional level of professionalism in serving the people of Papua New Guinea.”
