The UAE has announced a three-day weekend holiday for private sector workers across the country.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) had previously announced Saturday, December 2 and 3 as holiday dates for private sector workers.
It has now announced an update, adding Monday, December 4 as a paid public holiday.
UAE National Day 2023 holidays
In a message on social media, the MOHRE said: “The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation announced an update on public holiday for the private sector on UAE’s 52nd National Day: 2nd, 3rd and 4th December will be a paid public holiday.
“We extend our sincere congratulations to our wise leadership, citizens and residents of the UAE on this occasion”.
With the dates of the public holiday falling on a weekend, there was no extended break for private sector workers in the country.
However, with the updated dates it means workers in public and private sectors will have a three-day weekend to mark National Day in the United Arab Emirates.
The Federal Authority For Government Human Resources (FAHR) said December 2 to December 4 would be a public holiday for public sector employees.
It also announced remote working, where possible, for December 1.
