UAE’s Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHaP) announced 449 new Covid-19 cases and one death in its daily update.
The new cases bring the total number reported in the UAE to 48,246, while 314 people have now died as a result of Covid-19.
The new cases came following 43,551 additional Covid-19 tests carried out in the last 24 hours. Amna Al Dahak Al Shamsi, official spokesperson of the UAE Government, said a further 665 people have fully recovered from Covid-19, bringing the total number of recoveries to 37,076, with a total of 10,856 still being treated.
Al Shamsi added that the daily average rate of recoveries exceeds 660 cases, reflecting the efforts made by the medical staff in all UAE healthcare facilities, including doctors and nurses.
“All UAE departments and institutions are forging ahead with all measures needed to ensure a safe return to normalcy across all fields,” she said. “However, we are in a critical period that requires enhanced awareness and increased cooperation from all community members.”
