Sheikh Hamad bin Mohammed Al Sharqi, Ruler of Fujairah, has granted to the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) in Fujairah a plot of land to expand its campus in the emirate.
Sheikh Hamad announced the grant of the 22,126 square metre plot while receiving Dr Abdullatif Al Shamsi, Vice-Chancellor of the HCT, and his delegation at his palace in Rumailah.
He also discussed the HCT’s development plans, in light of the growing demand for technology skills in the economy, state news agency WAM reported on Tuesday.
HCT is the largest higher education institution in the UAE, with around 23,000 students attending 16 men’s and women’s campuses across the UAE in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain, Al Dhafra, Dubai, Sharjah, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah.
HCT offers approximately 100 majors in academic programs in Engineering Technology, Health Sciences, Applied Media, Business, Computer Information Science, and Education.
