Dr Jaffer Khan, a reputable plastic surgeon in Dubai and Medical Director and Founder at Aesthetics International & The Nova Clinic, is set to co-chair a session on ‘Longevity: Diet & Smart Aging’ at the upcoming IFCC WorldLab Congress 2024.
The 26th International Congress of Clinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine, organised jointly with other regional bodies, will take place from May 26 to May 30 at the Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC).
An expert in cosmetic procedures and anti-aging treatments, Dr Khan will moderate the longevity session alongside fellow chairs Dr Mishkat Shehata and Dr Maryam Matar from the UAE.
Who is Dr Jaffer Khan?
A trained burns and microvascular surgeon, Dr Khan has numerous scientific publications. He introduced the first Erbium YAG laser for facial resurfacing procedures to Riyadh and Dubai in the late 1990s.
Alongside his clinic roles, Dr Khan serves as a visiting professor at Anglia Ruskin University in the UK, leading a Masters programme in aesthetic plastic surgery in Dubai.
He is also the Founder and CEO of AEON Clinic in Atlantis The Royal.

Other speakers include Dr Samia Mora from the USA, who will discuss the Mediterranean diet’s role in preventing cardiovascular disease. Dr Gordon Lauc from the UK will cover glycans as biomarkers and effectors of age-related diseases.
Other talks will focus on restoring biological age, the impact of dietary lipids, and strategies to delay brain aging and cognitive decline.
The role of membrane lipidome in lifespan, and why dietary lipids can impact longevity, will be covered by Dr Vincenzo Di Donna from the United Arab Emirates University.
Rounding out the session is a presentation by Dr Evelyne Bischof from Switzerland on ‘Healthy Longevity Medicine’ and restoring and maintaining the biological age for optimal performance as people grow older.
On the brain health front, Dr David Vazour from the UK will outline novel strategies to delay brain aging and cognitive decline through preventative interventions.
