Two people were killed and six others were injured in four separate traffic accidents in Dubai during the past three days.

Brigadier General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, director general of Traffic Department at Dubai Police said two people were killed following a three-vehicle collision at 1.22pm on Friday, which was caused by speeding.

He said a Ford Mustang and a Toyota Corolla collided, causing the Corolla to hit the concrete barrier between the roads, and the Mustang to collide with a Toyota Camry. The driver of the Corolla and the passenger were killed due to their severe injuries, while the driver of the Mustang and a woman accompanying him were injured. The driver of the third vehicle was slightly injured, he said.

Al Mazrouei said a second accident took place at 10.48pm on Friday night at Amman Street, in the direction to Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road, when a pedestrian who was jaywalking was knocked down and seriously injured.

A third accident occurred at 4.40am on Sunday morning when another pedestrian who was jaywalking at Al Quds Street was knocked down and seriously injured.

The fourth incident saw a ten car collision at 8am this morning on Al Khail Street, in the direction from Dubai to Abu Dhabi. He said one person sustained minor injuries in the pile-up, which caused traffic congestion for a short period of time.
