DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre), Dubai’s renowned free zone and authority on commodities trade and enterprise, has welcomed its first commercial office tenants at the Uptown Tower.
This marks a milestone for the growing business district, which aims to accommodate the substantial foreign direct investment (FDI) that Dubai consistently attracts.
A total of 31 businesses will occupy Uptown Tower’s 22 floors of Grade A commercial office space of 495,000 square feet, a statement by the Dubai Media Office.
Among the initial tenants are global giants such as Invisalign and Wellbred, with others, including the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) and Hikvision, set to move in during the third quarter of this year.
The tower has also welcomed various retail and food and beverage outlets, including allday and Jones the Grocer.
Uptown Tower is the first in a series of towers within DMCC’s Uptown Dubai district, featuring seven mid-rise towers and two iconic supertall towers, including Uptown Tower itself.
This development will redefine mixed-use projects in the region, offering diverse retail and dining options, luxury hotels, experiential living spaces, and a sustainable community.
“The resounding success in attracting such influential entities reflects the significant international draw that Uptown Tower possesses and the value that DMCC adds to global businesses. Kicking off the handover process to our newest tenants is a milestone moment that marks an emphatic start to the Uptown Dubai journey,” Ahmed Bin Sulayem, Executive Chairman and chief executive officer of DMCC said.
He added: “Now home to over 23,000+ member companies, DMCC’s business district is the location of choice for global companies looking to expand into some of the world’s fastest-growing markets.”
Uptown Tower’s addition to DMCC’s business district reinforces Dubai’s role as a major global hub for commodities trade, particularly in diamonds, hydrocarbons, and metals. This aligns with DMCC’s mission to facilitate commodity trade flows.
In addition to the corporate tenants, DMCC has also started sales of its branded residences in Uptown Tower, SO/ Uptown Dubai Residences, with a substantial number of units already sold.
These branded residences complement the forthcoming SO/ hotel in the Middle East, which occupies 10 floors of the tower.
