Dubai’s MMI has announced it will absorb the reinstated Dubai Municipality Tax on more than 200 beverages, which came into effect on January 1, 2025.
The decision affects products including Heineken, Moët & Chandon, Absolut, and Minuty, with prices remaining unchanged both in-store and through mmihomedelivery.ae.
“Even with the reinstatement of the Dubai Municipality tax, our mission remains unchanged: to bring more to life for Dubai’s residents and tourists. That’s why we’ve committed to maintaining our current, competitive prices on over 200 customer-loved items,” MMI Group CEO Tyrone Reid said.
The retailer has also unveiled sustainability initiatives for January, including cork collection programmes with additional savings, eco-focused cocktail recipes, beach clean-ups, and mangrove tree planting activities.
MMI continues to provide complimentary alcohol licenses for residents and tourists aged 21 and above, available in-store and through licensedxb.com.
